Our MHADRTA pin was designed by her. The significance of the objects on the logo were well chosen.
The Book: We have closed the book on this part of our lives.

The Bell: We have no need to listen for the bell so it is laid down. As well the old brass bell symbolizes our connection to educators of the past.
The Red Pencil: We have retired the red marking pencil, the unique symbol of many hours spent doing schoolwork outside of the classroom.

The Red Apple: Thanks for a job well done (The traditional apple for the teacher saying) and for good health and happiness in the days ahead.
Madeline was awarded “Honoured teacher of the year for SD # 76 in 1998".
She has always been and still is an enthusiastic and dedicated educator.

She has served as the ARTA Trustee on the ATA (Alberta Teachers’ Assoc.) Educational Trust Fund Boards for 10 years.
It gave Donna Mae great pleasure to present Madeline Fischer honourary membership in MHADRTA on behalf of our association.
